Localization of pRSSreader

This page serves for localizators. If you are looking for localized version of pRSSreader, see the release page for current version.

General Information

• If you want to help me with localizing pRSSreader, please consider the following demands on localizator:
  1. Position of a localizator is long-term job. If you start with localization, I suppose you will do updates of newer versions.
  2. You have to have stable internet connection.
  3. You have to enough free time to make the localization/updates.
  4. If you want to stop working on localization, please find someone who will continue with localizing. And let me know that your are quitting the localizing.
  5. If this all is ok for you, please subscribe to prssr-devel-ml to be informed about new versions of pRSSreader.
• Anouncements of new versions (localization updates) are send to prssr-devel-ml. You can use this mailing list for communication related with localizations.
• Current versions of rc2 files (source files for localization) are published on this page. Always use versions from this page, because I can do some changes in rc2 files such as GUI adjustments, adding new items, etc.
• Test builds are accessible via this page.

Documentation

• If you are starting a new localization:
  1. Read How To Localize document. It is not very long and is full of examples how to localize.
  2. Follow the instructions inhere (if you are in doubt, ask me).
  3. Send the localized files to me.
  4. I will make a test build for you and send comments to you.
  5. We will repeat last two steps until the localization will be finished.

  Making a new localization takes about 2-4 hours (depending and your skills).

• If you are updating an existing localization:
  1. Get the diff (D) against the previous version.
  2. Make the update.
  3. Send the translated diff file to me.
  4. I will start a development version.
  5. Further updates (until the final version will be finished) will be made on the full-source development version.
  6. I will make a test build for you and send comments to you.
  7. We will repeat last two steps until the localization will be finished.
